For many of us, the Potato cake is bright, pleasant memories and a favorite taste from childhood. A very easy-to-prepare version of a delicious homemade dessert. The whole process does not take much time and effort, but it is important to withstand the time so that the "Potato" really "ripens".

Another important point is to be very careful about the choice of ingredients, only if they are not prepared on their own at home. It is clear that products should be natural and of high quality, but also fresh, this is especially important for crackers. When stored for a long time, they become musty, which, of course, will adversely affect the taste of the cake.

Despite the fact that "Potato" is made from very hard crackers, the dessert is tender and fragrant due to the alcoholic note.

Ingredients:

Butter crackers - 300 g

Sugar - 100 g

Milk - 250 ml

Butter - 150 g

Cocoa powder - 2 tbsp l.

Cognac - 2 tbsp. l.

Additionally:

Cocoa powder - 1 tbsp. l.

Preparation:

Step 1: Prepare the required ingredients.

Step 2: Grind the butter crumbs into crumbs by passing through a meat grinder, or in a blender with an "S" attachment, or in a coffee grinder, as an option.

Step 3: In a heat-resistant container (small saucepan, saucepan) mix granulated sugar and cocoa powder. Pour in milk and mix thoroughly. On a moderately hot stove, bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Turn off heating. Immediately add the butter, stirring occasionally, melt it and pour in the cognac.

Step 4: Pour ground crackers into the mixture, mix thoroughly and leave the mass unattended until it cools completely (for 30 minutes). After the allotted time, stir again.

Step 5: Form "potato tubers" the size of two walnuts from the obtained rusk mass. In the process of sculpting, you do not need to carefully tamp, compress the mass, otherwise you will get the effect of squeezing out a swollen bun for cutlets. The main thing is to keep the shape. Put in the refrigerator to "ripen" until the next day. Usually in many sources they write that you can eat right away, but it is better to be patient, since it will be completely different to taste. By the way, if you eat it right away, then you may not even like this option. The "ripe" cake will surely "reward" the expectation with its taste.

Step 6: Roll "ripe" potatoes in pre-sifted cocoa powder. Now you can taste it.

Step 7: The cake can be served with tea, coffee during family gatherings, or supplemented with a dessert table menu at banquets and buffets.

If desired, droplets of soft butter can be used to imitate the eyes on the "Potato".
