Today I want to share my advice on how easy it is to cook Easter cake, and any other bright yellow pastries inside.
I get cakes of this sunny color:
Many people use dyes, but I never buy them. I don't like artificial and chemical dyes. Even eggs for Easter I always paint with onion skins. Since childhood, I was taught to do this.
Many of my iconic baked goods specifically add a large amount of yolks to get a yellow color.
But it seems to me that this is not good. And why waste so many eggs when you can make everything easier?
My version: add the usual seasoning to the dough - ground turmeric! It gives an amazing baking color + I can also add finely ground tangerine peel for color (I harvest it in the tangerine season).
The dough is so bright:
How much turmeric should you add and how is it right?
I add 0.5 teaspoon of turmeric to about 500 grams of flour + 1 teaspoon of tangerine peel for flavor and color. And then the baking is simply dazzlingly bright, the eye rejoices.
I usually add turmeric to the yolk (if the recipe needs to separate the whites from the yolks) and mix with a mixer or fork.
You can just into a whole egg (if the recipe so necessary).
My advice is to add turmeric to liquid ingredients and mix well so that in the end we get a uniform, beautiful color throughout the baked goods.
It's so easy and simple to make bright baked goods 😍 How do you like this method? Did you know or use something else? Share in the comments!
