Delicious and juicy beetroot appetizer can be served with any side dish or meat dish. Garlic is added to it both fresh and dried ground, but those who do not like piquant tastes in food should refuse such an ingredient. Beets are boiled or baked for 25-30 minutes, and then sharply cooled in ice water, and the baked vegetable turns out to be more juicy than its boiled version.

On the days of Lent, the snack is seasoned with vegetable oil: sunflower, olive, corn, not refined, but mayonnaise gives the dish a more velvety taste. By the way, you can use garlic mayonnaise or Aioli sauce.

It is recommended to cool the beets thoroughly before creating the dish, as hot ingredients reduce the shelf life of the snack to a minimum of 2-3 hours.

Ingredients:

Boiled beets - 1 pc.

Garlic - 3 cloves

Mayonnaise - 1 tablespoon

Walnuts - 50 g

Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

1. Peel the boiled beets, rinse in water. Grind into a deep container on a fine mesh grater. Optionally, you can cut into cubes, mince or grate with large cells.

2. To ignite the walnut kernels, dry in a pan or in the oven, cool for 20 minutes - this procedure can be done in advance. Rub in your hands or chop with a knife, but not into crumbs. Pour into a container for the beets. Walnuts are interchangeable with peanuts, hazelnuts, or sesame seeds.

3. Peel the garlic cloves and rinse them in water. Pass through a press or chop finely and finely, adding to the container to the rest of the ingredients. It is permissible to replace fresh garlic with dried ground.

4. Put the mayonnaise of your choice, add salt and pepper. Gently but thoroughly mix the entire contents of the container with each other and place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes so that the garlic aroma has time to saturate the entire snack. It is best to cover the surface of the dish with a bag or cling film to prevent other ingredients from pulling on the flavor. If the appetizer is prepared in advance, then all the ingredients without mayonnaise can be mixed and cooled, and mayonnaise can be added just before serving.

5. Put in bowls or plates, decorate and serve with slices of bread, baked or boiled meat, fish, etc.

When serving, you can stir in chopped dill or parsley into the dish, if relatives or guests approve of its addition.
