Juicy, resilient minced meat balls in tomato sauce are prepared both in a frying pan and in a cauldron, pot or other refractory form (simmer in the oven). Meat can be anything, including poultry and cuts.
For the most natural taste, do not add flour, bread, or roll to the minced meat. Serve with a side dish of mashed potatoes, boiled rice, buckwheat or wheat grits, spaghetti or pasta.
Ingredients:
Minced meat - 500 g
Garlic - 2 teeth
Tomato paste - 70 g
Water - 200 ml
Vegetable oil - 30 ml
Salt, black pepper, bay leaf - to taste
Greens - for serving
Step by step recipe:
To make minced meat balls with tomato gravy in a skillet at home, use the foods listed.
Mince the meat yourself or use a quality, store-bought mince. I advise you to choose two types in equal proportions: pork and beef. Pork pulp will give juiciness, and beef - the necessary fiber and rich aroma.
If you want to increase the total yield, beat in an egg, add onions, herbs. In my recipe, only meat and a minimum of spices with garlic, such products resemble mouth-watering kebabs.
Push through a press one or two garlic cloves peeled from the husk, season the minced meat with a pinch of salt and ground hot pepper. Mix thoroughly, evenly distributing the seasoning.
Beat off lightly, tossing a lump of meat from palm to palm. In this way, we increase the elasticity of the fibers, then it is easier to sculpt cutlets, meatballs and other meat balls.
Roll up round workpieces of the same size / weight with wet or slightly oiled hands. We focus on the number of intended portions. You can make more of a smaller diameter and vice versa.
We warm up a frying pan with lean refined oil, transfer semi-finished products to a hot surface. Fry on high heat until golden brown for 5 minutes, turn over.
Next, on the stove, bring water with concentrated tomato paste to a boil - dilute with spices to taste until smooth.
Pour the tomato sauce over the fried meat balls. For the scent, throw in the bay leaf. Boil, reduce heat and steam under the lid for the next 15 minutes.
Serve hot balls of minced meat with tomato gravy, adding fresh herbs.
