Ingredients:

Potatoes - 4 pcs.

Carrots - 1 pc.

Bulb onions - 1 pc.

Dry split peas - 1 cup

Salt, black pepper - to taste

Bay leaf - 2 pcs.

Parsley - 2 sprigs

Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons

Pork on the bone - 350 g.

Water - 2.5 liters.

To make Pork Pea Soup, prepare the ingredients listed for the recipe.

Rinse dry split peas thoroughly, and then soak for a couple of hours (or leave overnight) in clean, cold water. Then drain the liquid, and rinse the legumes again.

Transfer the peas to a suitable cooking container and add the pork. For a richer broth, it is best to use the bone marrow.

Pour the contents of the pan with water and send to the stove. Bring to a boil over high heat. As soon as the water starts to boil, a large amount of foam forms on the surface, remove it with a spoon or a special slotted spoon. Cook the peas with meat on low heat for about 1 hour, until tender.

Meanwhile, peel and chop the vegetables. Cut the onion into cubes and grate the carrots with medium cells.

Fry the onions with carrots in vegetable oil until golden brown, stirring occasionally so as not to burn.

As soon as the meat and peas are tender, you can send potatoes, previously peeled and cut into long strips, into the pan.

After 10-15 minutes, add salt and fried vegetables to the soup.

Cook for another 5 minutes, and then add bay leaves, black pepper and finely chopped parsley to the pan. As for the greens, it's a matter of taste, use the one you like best. Bring the dish to a boil again and remove from heat.

As a supplement, fresh or pickled vegetables, and, of course, white bread croutons, preferably homemade.
