Turkey meat is not only tasty and nutritious, it is also healthy, dietary, low-calorie and hypoallergenic, so it is excellent for a children's menu. It will definitely diversify your diet if you are tired of dry chicken or fatty duck.
If you want to roast your turkey in the oven, the drumstick is the best choice. You can bake it open or by wrapping it in foil. As for me, it is in the foil that the juicy and soft drumstick is obtained, where the pulp is well separated from the bone.
Before baking, marinate the turkey in a spicy sweet and sour sauce, and also supplement with a minimum set of vegetables. All the cooking time is spent only on pickling and baking, the preparation process itself is very fast, does not require special skills.

Ingredients:
Turkey drumstick - 1 pc. (800 gr.)
Carrots - 1 pc.
Onions - 1 pc.
Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
Tomato sauce - 1 tbsp
Refined oil - 1 tablespoon
Liquid honey - 1 tsp
Garlic - 3 cloves
Ground coriander - 0.5 tsp
Ground ginger - 1 tsp
Paprika - 0.5 tsp
Thyme - 0.5 tsp
Salt, pepper - to taste
How to cook:
Prepare all the foods on the list. Wash and dry the vegetables thoroughly in advance.
Rinse the lower leg under running water, lightly blot the moisture with a paper towel. Carefully separate the peel from the pulp, forming a kind of "pocket". Make 3-4 deep transverse cuts with a knife, preferably to the bone (see photo).
Peel the carrots from the top layer, cut into medium-sized cubes. Exfoliate the cloves of garlic, cut into 2 parts. Place the carrots and garlic in the prepared holes on the drumstick pulp.
Prepare the sauce in parallel. In a bowl, combine the required amount of tomato paste, oil, soy sauce and honey. Pour in the entire set of the specified spices, namely ground ginger, paprika, coriander, thyme, salt, pepper. Stir the mixture thoroughly so that all the ingredients come together to form a homogeneous sauce. Also try to dissolve honey as much as possible.
Spread the resulting sauce on the turkey drumstick on all sides (inside and outside the skin), pour the remaining sauce on top. Marinate the meat for 30 minutes, or longer, so that the pulp is well saturated with it.
Separate the head of the onion from the husk, trim it into large half rings. Place the slices at the foot and on top of the shin.
Wrap the marinated meat well with foil, leaving no gaps. Preheat the oven to a temperature of 200 degrees. Place the shank on a baking sheet, load into the oven.
Cook the turkey for 1 hour without lowering the set heat. 20 minutes before the end of the process, free the upper part of the drumstick from the foil so that the meat is fried, forming a golden brown crust on top.
Cool the baked turkey slightly. Top with herbs and fresh vegetables before serving.
