How to buy products correctly in order to choose high-quality products and save money at the same time? It is important to remember here that the main goal of manufacturers and sellers is to sell goods and profits, so they do everything possible to reduce their own costs. We've put together a list of useful tips for you to help you shop without spending half your salary and buy quality products.

Don't buy ready-made salads

When buying ready-made salads, inspect them carefully. So, if there is a lot of garlic, spices, herbs in it, then this usually indicates the expired shelf life of the salad, and with additives he is simply trying to mask it.

It is also important to consider that:

  • meat and fish salads spoil faster than vegetable ones;
  • Salads with vegetable oil are safer than those seasoned with mayonnaise;
  • it is best to buy without refills, since they are stored longer - up to two days.

Also check whether the grocery store complies with the requirements of GOST. For example, salads for sale should be stored in glass, not metal containers, where they are oxidized, there should be a separate container for each dish, staff should wear gloves.

In addition, there should be no cracks on the package, deformations - these are not cosmetic defects, but serious damage indicating violations during transportation, improper storage.

Should you believe in the freshness of your products?

The stores know how to display their products from the best side. Therefore, one must learn to see the "hidden". For example, properly adjusted lighting makes meat tasty and fresh.

Therefore, it is so important to ask the seller to get the piece you like out of the window in order to better examine it. You will be surprised how it will look in different lighting conditions.

Many people are afraid to buy meat on which there is a dry film. But this only means that it was kept in the air for a long time and was not covered with a film. However, if the piece looks very wet, it may indicate that the vendors tried to refresh the meat with water. As a result, the dish will be very dry during cooking.

Bright colors are not a guarantee of quality

For some reason, many have a firm belief that bright colors guarantee a bright taste of vegetables and fruits. However, this is not quite true. For example, such products grown in natural conditions usually have dimmer light, spots on the surface. Greenhouse fruits and vegetables, on the other hand, may look perfect, but still achieve beautiful color through the use of chemicals.

This also applies to cheese. It is a mistake to think that a bright cheese indicates a better taste. No, it’s not. A natural product can be either white or pale yellow, everything else is achieved through dyes. The same can be said for salmon - its bright color is usually achieved through the addition of chemical dyes.

Do not be lazy to look deep into the shelves

To sell more expensive products, they are placed in the most visible spots at eye level or in the middle. It is for this reason that we are drawn to buy such a product. But that doesn't say it is made with quality ingredients.

Also, in order to minimize the costs from the expiration date, sellers often move such products to noticeable attractive places for buyers.

The solution here is simple - you need not be lazy and climb into the farthest corner on the shelf, where inexpensive and fresh products usually lie.

Read the names and composition of goods more accurately

If you see products called "Condensed milk", "Butter", "Curd", do not think that the manufacturer of the product wants to appear cute. Such names are used only because products are made from artificial ingredients, which the manufacturer cannot name.

Using such “cute” names is an easy and cheap way to sell a low-quality product.

Also, do not believe if the packaging says "Sugar-free", "Cholesterol-free", "Rich in vitamins", since this does not always mean quality. For example, if yoghurt really does not contain sugar, then it contains chemical sweeteners.

Should you buy organic products?

First you need to figure out what organic produce is. Thus, according to information from the Ministry of Agriculture, it is produced by farms without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, bioengineering, etc.

But how do you recognize truly organic products in a store? It is important to pay attention to the sticker to the product: it must contain a five-digit code starting with a nine - this is how organic products are labeled. If other numbers are indicated there, the product is not organic.
