I will cook in a slow cooker. In the end, I will tell you how I cook this dish in the oven and on the stove. Porridge, well, very tasty! My husband, when he first tried it, said that he didn’t eat porridge tastier!
I chopped the onions and mushrooms, grated the carrots on a coarse grater. At the bottom of the multicooker bowl I pour a little vegetable oil and on the "frying" program I lightly fry the onions, after 5 minutes I add the carrots and mushrooms. I have champignons, but with any mushrooms it will be delicious, of course. Salt, fry for another 7-8 minutes. I put it on a plate.
I pour a little more oil into the multicooker bowl and spread the washed buckwheat. Then some fried vegetables with mushrooms. The next layer is pearl barley. You can pre-soak it, but I don't - the cereal has time to cook completely, although I can't believe it right away! Again vegetables with mushrooms, millet, vegetables and the top layer - rice. I have regular rice, not parboiled.
I fill it with salt water and turn on the multicooker in the "rice" or "cereal" or "porridge" mode for 30 minutes. Pressure cooker mode won't work here! It is advisable to let the porridge brew for 15-20 minutes. But you can also serve immediately. It turns out a very bright, aromatic, nourishing and very, very tasty porridge, which is liked even by those who do not like barley or millet. In this combination, everyone eats porridge)) It is tastier than any vegetable pilaf!
In the oven you can cook such a dish in a large ceramic or cast iron pot or in portions. In the same way, I fry vegetables with mushrooms, put them in pots in layers, add a little more water - 1: 2 approximately and bake for 40-50 minutes at 180 degrees, but, of course, look at your oven.
On the stove it is better to cook in a thick-walled dish and simmer the porridge over low heat for about an hour. Try it! This is delicious!
