When I urgently need a side dish, I always cook potatoes this way!
There are several differences from the usual cooking method.
I cut the peeled potatoes not coarsely, but into thin slices. The thickness should be 2-3 mm, no more.
If the potatoes are large, first cut in half, and then cut thinly.
Pour the chopped potatoes with cold water and rinse well. I drain the water.
Now I transfer the potatoes to the pot.
I fill it with boiling water. It is very important here that there is not much water! It should only cover the potatoes.
I add a tablespoon of oil so that an oil film forms on the surface of the water. I usually use butter, but you can add vegetable oil.
Bring to a boil over high heat and cook for 8 minutes. I immediately drain the water.
All! You can make mashed potatoes! Milk, butter - everything is as usual 😊
