First, the marinade. Water, coriander (peas), mustard beans, allspice, cloves, bay leaves, salt and sugar. I add vinegar at the end. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. I must say right away that I did not confuse the amount of salt and sugar! Exactly! It won't be sweet! It will be delicious!
The marinade must be cooled to room temperature. I defrost the herring beforehand (on a shelf in the refrigerator). It is better not to use quick defrosting methods!
I clean, remove all the bones. I cut the fillet into convenient pieces.
I cut carrots into slices, onions into half rings. I chop the greens with a knife.
I put it in a jar (in layers). First, pieces of herring, then carrots, onions, herbs. Again herring, carrots, onions, herbs ...
Pour the cooled marinade over, cover, turn over the jar so that the marinade is well distributed.
I leave the jar on the table for 2 hours, then put it in the refrigerator for a day.
