Hello friends! Congratulations to everyone on Shrovetide!
I'm making my favorite velvet pancakes again today. If you suddenly haven't tried this recipe, see the video at the end of the article. They are just incredible! Delicious, delicate, very, very thin, and most importantly - they always work out. The proportions are just perfect!
It turns out very tasty with filling (especially with cottage cheese):
On Shrovetide, when guests come to us, I make pancake roses. You can make such roses from any pancakes. Here I have roses made from thin pancakes with milk.
Fold the pancake in four and cut the edge. I cut the resulting ring on one side.
I start rolling the pancake. I put the edge that I cut off in the middle of the rose.
But we call such roses "with a twist", because most often I add something to the middle - a piece of chocolate, raisins, prunes, dried apricots or marmalade 😊 The children are delighted! Especially if there is some kind of "surprise" inside
And also such roses can be greased with honey or jam and sprinkled with sugar - it turns out even more interesting. Colored sugar looks especially beautiful (I color the sugar myself).
If the pancakes are unsweetened, you can wrap a piece of soft cheese or red fish in the middle of the rose. I always manage to surprise guests with such a simple snack!
