One of my favorite recipes for salted herring. Not quite ordinary. But everyone asks me for the recipe.
I have already told you how I cook lightly salted herring in the "wet" way. If you missed, see HERE.
Today I will show you a recipe in which I do not use water at all. But it cannot be called a "dry" method either.
I serve this herring and just like that, as a snack, and add it to salads. Moreover, not only herring, but also the onion is very tasty!
And you don't need to rinse anything - you just need to cut it into pieces.
I defrost the fresh herring, peel it, sort it into fillets.
I spread the fillets in a suitable container (preferably with a lid). Salt. About 1 tsp. without a slide of salt is needed for each layer of fish. This includes bay leaves, coriander (peas) and black pepper.
Then I spread the onion (I cut it into thin half rings). Onions - again herring, salt, spices and again onions.
I fill it with oil. It is better to take aromatic oil. I have a sunflower salad.
I put a lid on the container and put it in the refrigerator for at least a day (we usually try after about 48 hours).
I store this fish in the refrigerator for up to 10 days. And all this time the herring remains lightly salted.
Before serving, I cut the fillet into pieces that will be convenient to eat. I like it like this, subtly:
I spread it on a dish and pour it with lemon juice. Of course, I serve with onions))
Ingredients:
• Herring - 2 pcs.
• Onion - 1 pc.
• Salt - 2 tsp. (no slide)
• Black pepper
• Coriander (peas) - 1 tsp.
• Bay leaf - 2 pcs.
• Vegetable oil - 50 ml
