Why do I grease the grater with oil before use (a simple solution to a perennial problem)

Yesterday I shared this advice on my YouTube channel. And I was surprised! It turns out that few people know why they grease the grater with oil)) I will tell you why I am doing this (by the way, there are several reasons, I will name them all!)

In the video, I talked in detail about this little "secret". There are also two very tasty salads. Take a look - you'll love it!

Perhaps you do that too. But if you didn’t know, you’ll like this little tip.

Have you ever had such a soft cheese sticking to the grater and then you couldn't remove it from it... I used to have this problem all the time. Even if you freeze the cheese beforehand, as many advise, it doesn't matter - some of the cheese remained on the grater.

Rubbing processed cheese

But now I have no such problem. To grate ANY soft cheese on ANY grater, you just need to grease it with vegetable oil.

Moreover, I grease the grater inside too! It is important!

Everything, you can grate cheese. No problem now! Here's what happens when you grate it on a coarse grater:

At the same time, the cheese does not "stick" to the grater. It is almost clean))

It is the same with any fine grater. I just grease, rub and get a thin straw, and not some sticky homogeneous mass:

And here's what the grater itself looks like after use:

I rub boiled potatoes in the same way. It also usually sticks to the grater. And usually it turns out some kind of "porridge", and not potato straws. But, if you grease the grater with oil, everything is fine. Even small. the grater does not clog and rubs everything beautifully!

There are several other reasons why I grease the grater with oil. For example, when I grate carrots or beets on my Korean carrot grater, I also grease the grater with oil. But already not in order to get a beautiful "cutting", but in order to make it easier to wash the grater later.

After all, carrots and beets stain plastic. And then it is almost impossible to return the white color to the grater. But if you apply a little oil beforehand - no problems arise! I also grease my hands with oil when I work with beets or carrots))

Write, did you know about this method? And share your secrets in the comments.
