There is something to talk about here! 😀 I noticed that under each of my borscht recipes (any - with meat, without meat, with beans, with sorrel ...) they always write to me: "this is not borscht!" "borscht is prepared differently", "you don't know how to cook the right borscht!" etc. But I cook the way we love, the way mine did. grandmother. And my grandmother always told me: "There are no two identical borscht!" In general, today is lean borscht. But, of course, it can be cooked with meat broth too! Do not write that this is the wrong borscht, just tell us in the comments how you prepare this beloved first course.

I have already shown how I prepare dry vegetable broth (this is a universal seasoning that I add to many dishes) - I will leave a link to this video at the end of the article. I add about 1.5 tbsp to boiled water. this vegetable seasoning.

Immediately I send beets cut into thin strips into the pan. And cook over low heat for 15-20 minutes.

I fry the onion in vegetable oil. I add some sugar. This makes the dressing much tastier. if you haven't tried it, I recommend it.

In a few minutes I send the carrots to the onion.

After another 3-4 minutes add tomato juice. How I prepare tomato juice for the winter, I showed HERE.

Carcass for 3 minutes, then add bell pepper and salt to taste. Carcass for a couple of minutes and set it aside.

During this time, the beets have already boiled well. Like this:

I add potatoes cut into small cubes to it and cook until tender. Salt to taste.

When the potatoes are cooked, I send the pre-boiled beans, dressing and cabbage to the pan. I always add cabbage at the end! I do not like it when it is soft in borscht.

I boil for a few minutes. At the very end, add bay leaves and fresh herbs. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Be sure to let the borscht brew for 15-20 minutes.

And serve with sour cream))
