The "Basket with Roses" salad is prepared simply and from the most affordable products. The design will take a little work, but this beauty is worth it! Carrot roses look like real ones!
Inside the "Basket with Roses" salad you will find a combination of chicken meat with fried mushrooms. And Korean-style carrots add juiciness and piquancy to the salad.

Ingredients:

  • boiled chicken fillet - 300 g
  • fresh champignons - 200 g
  • Korean carrots - 200 g
  • cheese - 200 g
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • mayonnaise - 2 tbsp. l.
  • sour cream - 2 tbsp. l.
  • mustard - 1 tsp l.
  • green onions - bunch
  • dill - bunch
  • fresh carrots - 1-2 pcs. (for decoration)
  • salt
  • toothpicks

Step by step recipe

1. First, we cut carrot strips from 1-2 carrots, from which we will make carrot roses.


Put the carrot strips in a bowl, pour in 1 glass of water and add 1 tbsp. salt. Stir to dissolve the salt. Leave the carrots in the salted water while making the salad.

2. Now let's start preparing the salad.
Cut 200 g of champignons into slices.
Fry the chopped mushrooms over high heat until all the liquid has evaporated.

3. Cut one onion into half rings.
Add chopped onion to the ready-made mushrooms and fry until a beautiful golden color.
At the end of frying, salt the mushrooms and remove from heat.

4. Cut 300 g of boiled chicken breast into cubes.
Put chopped meat, 200 g of Korean carrots and fried mushrooms with onions in a bowl.

5. Now we make the salad dressing.
Pour 2 tbsp into a bowl. l. sour cream, 2 tbsp. mayonnaise and 1 tsp. mustard. We mix everything.

6. Stir the salad in a bowl a little, season with sauce and mix again.

7. We transfer the finished salad to a large dish in which we will serve it on the table.

8. First, cut 150 g of cheese into thin slices with a vegetable peeler. We cut the plates into approximately equal rectangles.
We also cut into thin, long strips of cheese.

9. Put the sliced ​​cheese on one half of the salad in a checkerboard pattern. We imitate a wicker basket.
Form a handle for a basket from thin strips of cheese.
In order not to weather the cheese, cover the salad with cling film.

10. Finely chop a bunch of dill.
Finely chop a small bunch of green onions with a knife.
Mix all the greens together.
Put the prepared greens on top of the second part of the salad.
Cover with cling film again.

11. The carrot strips have already become soft, remove them from the water and dry them with paper towels.

12. Now we make roses from carrots.
First, we twist the carrot plate into a small tube. Then we bend the carrots making a rose petal. This is how we make all the petals by screwing them to each other until the whole plate of carrots ends.

13. Turn the flower over and fix everything from below with a toothpick.
So that the carrot roses do not become weathered and do not lose their appearance, grease with sunflower oil.

14. Before we serve the salad on the table, take out the toothpicks from the roses and put them on the salad. If the roses are left unsecured with toothpicks for more than 1 hour, they may unwind a little.
For such a salad, I needed 10 carrot roses.
