Recalculation of ingredients for molds of different diameters.
Hello everyone! My name is Natalia, and I am glad to welcome you to my channel Tasty Simply Fast!
Today I want to tell you how to simply and quickly recalculate the amount of ingredients in a round shape of a smaller diameter to a larger one and vice versa.
For example, I am specifying the amount of ingredients for an 18 cm cake pan and you want to bake a 24 cm cake.
To do this, you need to calculate the coefficient, it is calculated as follows.
The square of the radius of the shape to which you want to recalculate the recipe must be divided by the square of the radius of the shape, the ingredients of which you know.
For example, it looks like this.
Radius of your shape by diameter 24 cm is equal to 12 cm.
R1 24 = 12 cm
The square of the radius of your shape is 144 cm2.
R1 = 12 * 12 = 144 cm2
The radius of my shape is diameter 18 cm is equal to 9 cm.
R2 18 = 9 cm
The square of the radius of my shape is 81 cm2.
R2 = 9 * 9 * = 81 cm2
We calculate the coefficient, divide the square of the radius of your shape by the square of the radius of my shape.
K = R1 / R2
K = 144 / 81 = 1,78
The coefficient is 1.78 - which means that in order to bake a cake with a diameter of 24 cm, you need to multiply the amount of all ingredients in the recipe by 1.78.
For instance:
If for a mold with a diameter of 18 cm you need 120 grams of sugar, then for a mold with a diameter of 24 cm you will need 120 * 1.78 = 214 grams of sugar.
If the ingredients in the recipe are specified for a mold with a diameter of 18 cm, then for a mold with a diameter of 20 cm, the amount of all ingredients must be multiplied by 1.23
Ø 18 - Ø 20 - K 1.23
Ø 18 - Ø 21 - K 1.36
Ø 18 - Ø 22 - K 1.49
Ø 18 - Ø 23 - K 1.63
Ø 18 - Ø 24 - K 1.78
Ø 18 - Ø 25 - K 1.93
Ø 18 - Ø 26 - C 2.09
Ø 18 - Ø 27 - K 2.25
Ø 18 - Ø 28 - K 2.42
Ø 18 - Ø 29 - C 2.60
Ø 18 - Ø 30 - K 2.78
