Three cheese pasta casserole: the family will be happy

There is no sight more dull than a family that pulls with disappointed faces:

- More pasta!

But I already wrote, pasta - they are almost like potatoes, they can be fries, or they can be pie (figuratively speaking). In the sense that you can create a great variety of dishes with them, despite a very limited, in fact, set of ingredients.

Today, let's depict the Russian analogue of baked provolone pasta?

Provolone is a cheese. Regular rennet cow's milk cheese, low fat and semi-hard. It's useless to look for him here, except to look at the Metro or in gourmet shops. In truth, provolone does not taste like a special holiday - cheese is like cheese. I tried all three varieties, dolce, piccante and affumate, delicious, but I did not taste all the beautiful shades - almonds and other things that are usually described.

So in our case, we can replace provolone pikkante with any sufficiently spicy and rich cheese made from cow's milk. Some recommend substituting mozzarella or parmesan for provolone. But mozzarella is softer and flatter in taste, while parmesan is saltier. So don't bother too much.

We take:

  • Large paste packaging
  • Onion
  • 300 grams of ground beef
  • A jar of tomatoes in their own juice
  • 120-150 grams of provolone or any semi-hard cheese. If anything, there is Russian-made provolone cheese, you can search, if you really want authenticity
  • 120-150 grams of mozzarella
  • Some hard cheese a la parmesan
  • Salt, pepper, oregano, oregano, I would also recommend fenugreek (but this is not for everybody).

How we cook:

Boil the pasta until aldente.

Finely chop the onion, fry with the minced meat.

We clean the tomatoes in their own juice and turn them into mashed potatoes together with the juice. We send everything to a frying pan for meat with onions, salt, add herbs and simmer for about fifteen minutes.

We cut the provolone or the cheese that replaces it into small thin slices, rub the mozzarella on a coarse grater, hard cheese on a fine grater.

First put a layer of boiled pasta in a greased form, then a layer of minced meat, then a layer of cheese slices, then again - pasta, on them already - mozzarella, on top - the remaining minced meat with sauce and sprinkle it all with grated hard cheese.

We send all this to bake in the oven at 160 -170 degrees, until the cheese melts.
