Hello friends! I suggest making simple lean potato tortillas. You can wrap any filling in such cakes: meat, vegetable, fish, or make something like a hot dog with a sausage.

Potato tortillas in a pan

  • Pour the peeled potatoes with cold water and bring to a boil.
  • Cook until cooked, do not add salt.
  • When the potatoes are ready, drain the water, add half a teaspoon of salt and mash them well.

Do this while the potatoes are hot, otherwise you will end up with lumps and the mass will not turn out homogeneous. Let the potatoes cool.

Add wheat and rye flour to the cooled potatoes.

  • Knead the dough, stir the ingredients until smooth and collect in a ball. You will get a soft plastic potato dough.
  • Let the dough rest for 10-15 minutes before baking the tortillas.

Prepare a clean plate and a clean towel to place the tortillas in. Cover the flat cakes with the second part of the towel.

  • A piece of dough for small tortillas weighs approximately 50 g.
  • Dust the table generously with flour and roll out the cake.
  • Heat a frying pan at the same time, preferably with a thick bottom.
  • There is no need to grease, the cakes are fried in a dry frying pan.
  • I roll out the cakes to 1 ml and put them on a heated surface.

  • I keep the heating just above average.
  • On each side, the tortilla is fried for about 40-45 seconds.
  • I spread the finished cake on one half of the towel and cover it with the other half.
  • From this amount, I got 13 cakes.
  • The tortillas are very tasty and unusual in their structure.
  • Traditionally, sausages with ketchup and crispy onions are wrapped in them.

500 g potatoes
150 g wheat flour
50 g rye flour (whole grain 40 g)
0.5 tsp salt
