I know that the very name of shawarma is meat fried on a spit and wrapped in pita bread, but because we are preparing lean dish, then it resembles shawarma only in appearance, and in taste, it even surpasses the beloved by many product.
Of course, when it comes to fasting, talking about abundance on the table is even inconvenient, but everyone still needs to eat, so I will share with you a recipe that I constantly cook. The main thing is that the filling can be anything. It all depends on your desire and the availability of certain products in the refrigerator.
Products you need:
- Thin Armenian lavash - 1 pack
- Soy mayonnaise - 1 can
- Carrots - 1 pc.
- Eggplant - 1 pc.
- Tomato - 1 pc
- Zucchini (zucchini) - 1 pc.
- Cucumber - 1 pc
Cut the eggplant and zucchini into thin slices. Fry in a pan with a little vegetable oil for a few minutes on each side (I have a grill pan).
Cut the tomato and cucumber into small pieces, grate the carrots.
Usually there are 2-3 sheets of pita bread in a package. One sheet is smeared with a thin layer of mayonnaise (you can do without it)
Cut the eggplant and zucchini into thin strips
Put chopped fried vegetables on the edge of the pita bread. Put the tomato and carrots on top.
We roll up the pita bread. I am sure that almost everyone has tried shawarma, and how to wrap pita bread will not be difficult for anyone.
You can put it in the refrigerator and take it with you to work the next day.
And who does not want to wait, you can safely start eating.
Usually for this amount of products I got 3 servings of "shawarma".
That's all! As always, everything is very fast. I hope you will enjoy!
