I unpack a parcel from China with small things for the kitchen and share my impressions.
During the New Year holidays, I wanted to buy all kinds of utensils for the kitchen. I didn't want to go to the store and I decided to try to order everything I needed from China. In addition, I was told that ordering from China is more profitable than buying from us.
Like, all the same, most of the products in our stores are brought from the Middle Kingdom, and then they make a markup and sell at exorbitant prices. Let's figure out if this is so. I ordered 5 things that I needed for filming a video, for a total of 1,800 rubles, and now I'll show you what I got.
I ordered it through the Joom service, this is the Russian analogue of Aliexpress. The service works very similarly, but the main difference from Aliexpress is its own delivery service. More precisely, partly its own. The company collects your orders in China in one place, and then transports them to Russia, where it already transfers them for delivery by Mail.
On the one hand, it is convenient. I ordered 5 different things from different sellers, and one big order went to receive. On the other hand, not all suppliers quickly deliver goods to the Joom warehouse, and you have to wait until all items are collected.
My order was collected quickly, but it was delivered for a month and a half. I was so used to ordering from Ozon and receiving goods the next day that I had already forgotten what I ordered.
Silicone spatula white
It is difficult to understand its characteristics from photographs and product descriptions. I thought that this spatula would be hard and it would be easy to knead shortbread dough with it.
But in reality, the scapula turned out to be quite soft. Despite the fact that I wanted something different, I liked this scapula. It is made of high quality silicone and is pleasant to hold in your hands.

But I liked this scapula right away. It has a wooden handle that is pleasant to hold.
The only thing that confuses me is the silicone is too soft. My son gnawed my last shoulder blade, I hope this will not suffer.
Solid silicone spatula
I only bought this paddle because it is heat resistant. That is, silicone should not melt at high temperatures.
For example, I don't have to worry about the silicone melting when I make the caramel. During the cooking process, the temperature of the sugar syrup can reach 150 ° C and higher, and not every scoop will withstand this.
However, neither in the description, nor on the packaging of the goods, the maximum temperature is indicated.
Dough scraper
My last dough scraper darkened a little and looked bad in the frame. So I took a new one. It is one-to-one in size like mine, and I expected it to be a complete replacement.
But in reality I didn't like the scraper. It is made of hard plastic and does not bend at all. It is very convenient to clean the dough from the rounded containers with a soft scraper, but this will not work.
Baking rack
So I got to the biggest failure. I needed a rectangular grille and expected it to be rectangular like in the product photo.
But in reality, the grid is more like a square. Here, of course, I myself am a little to blame. It was necessary to read the description, where it is indicated that the lattice is 28 by 25 cm, which is closer to the square. Although the photo is on display, where you can see that the grille is rectangular.
What is the bottom line
I have mixed impressions of the products. On the one hand, it is clear that the products are of good quality. On the other hand, nowhere is there a normal description and recommendations for use.
The baking rack does not match the photo at all. Yes, the description is correct size, but the photo is disorienting.
You can order something with Joom only if you are ready to wait a month and a half for these things. And if you can do without them, maybe you don't need them at all?
