A delicious and very simple recipe for your favorite Napoleon cake without baking. This quick recipe doesn't need to bake the cakes or even need cookies. The cakes of the required size are cut from thin pita bread in a couple of minutes. The only thing you have to work on is the cream. But it is very simple to prepare.
Napoleon without baking turns out to be moderately sweet and moist. After cooking, it only needs a couple of hours for impregnation and can be served. This simple cake can be made for both guests and family tea.

Ingredients:

  • thin pita bread - 500 g
  • milk - 500 g
  • butter - 100 g
  • sugar - 100 g
  • egg yolk - 1 pc.
  • flour - 3 tbsp. l.
  • vanilla sugar - 10 g

Step by step recipe

1. First, let's make the cake custard.
Pour 250 ml of milk into a saucepan and put on fire. While the milk is boiling, prepare the rest of the cream.

2. Pour 3 tablespoons into a bowl. flour, 100 g sugar, 10 g vanilla sugar. Mix all dry ingredients a little.

3. Add 1 yolk to this, we don't need egg white in this recipe. Pour 250 ml of milk and mix everything well with a whisk so that there are no lumps.

4. The milk has already boiled, pour the prepared mixture into it, while constantly stirring. Cook the custard base over low heat, stirring with a whisk, until thickened. It is imperative to stir so that nothing burns.
When the custard base for the cream thickens and begins to boil, remove it from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.

5. The custard base has cooled down, we continue to prepare the cream. Put 100 g of butter in a bowl and beat with a mixer until white, about 2 minutes.

6. Add one tablespoon of the well-cooled custard base to the whipped butter, whisking the cream well each time. If you add the entire custard base to the oil at once, then the cream will turn out to be not so lush and airy.

7. Cooking cakes.
We take a thin pita bread, fold it in half and put it on the board. So we add all the pieces of lavash, it will take about 500 g.
Put a lid or plate of a suitable size on top and cut out round cakes with a knife. The diameter of my cakes is 21 cm.

8. Finely chop the trimmings that remain with a knife.
Put all the trimmings in a pan and dry over low heat, stirring occasionally.

9. We transfer the dried pieces of pita bread to the grinder and grind into crumbs.

10. We fold the cake.
Grease the bottom of the dish with some cream so that the cake does not slide on the dish.
We put the first cake, on it we evenly apply a small layer of cream. Cover with the second cake layer, apply the cream again, fold the whole cake. I got 9 pita cakes.
Spread the rest of the cream over the entire cake on top and on the sides.

11. Sprinkle the cake with dried chopped pieces of pita bread.
The cake is ready, we put it in the refrigerator to infuse for about 2 hours.

The Napoleon cake without baking turned out to be very tasty and tender. It is a pleasure to cook it, since you do not need to spend time kneading dough and baking cakes.
