✅👌 Sometimes you want so much that there was always an atmosphere of comfort and warmth in the house, but it's not difficult to create this, sometimes it is enough that the aromas of homemade baked goods soar in the house! And in the evening they gather together for a cup of aromatic tea or coffee.

Today I will offer you a recipe for the fastest and most delicious cakes on kefir dough, with the addition of an interesting ingredient.

Such an insignificant, at first glance, additive like fried onions can perfectly diversify the taste of yeast-free cakes on kefir.

Such baked goods are indispensable when the refrigerator is almost empty and the cooking time is limited.

✨ In just half an hour, you will bake a tall stack of delicious and aromatic tortillas and delight your loved ones.

📕To make cakes you will need: 🥙

Kefir (fat content does not matter) - 500 ml
Onions - 2 large or 3 medium heads
Salt - 0.5 tsp
Sugar - 0.5 tsp
Baking soda - 1 tsp
Wheat flour - 700-750 g
Vegetable oil - for frying onions and flat cakes.

Since our dough is yeast-free and is prepared according to the “mixed and ready” principle, it makes sense to first of all pay attention to onions. We take a couple of large onions, remove the husks and crumb them into small cubes.

Pour 2-3 tbsp into the pan. l. refined oil, heat and spread the onion. Fry over medium heat, stirring frequently. Cook until the onions are softened. At the same time, it will become translucent and acquire a slight ruddy color. It is not necessary to deeply fry the onion, because it will simply burn out while baking the cakes, become bitter and ruin the baked goods.

In the meantime, the onion is fried, pour the kefir into a deep bowl. It is desirable that it is not only from the refrigerator, but slightly warm - at room temperature (you can slightly warm the cold kefir in the microwave). Add salt and sugar.

Then pour the toasted onion here. It is not necessary to cool it before adding it.

Sift the entire amount of flour into a separate bowl and divide it approximately in half. Add soda to one half and mix. Pour the resulting mixture into a bowl of kefir. Stir with a whisk until the lumps disappear.

Sprinkle the remaining flour in small portions so as not to clog the dough. The fact is that each manufacturer's flour differs in the content of protein, moisture, impurities. Therefore, it is almost impossible to predict exactly how much flour will be needed in your case. Perhaps all will go away, or maybe a little will remain. In short, focus on the consistency of the dough. It should turn out to be quite dense, but not tight, soft and almost not sticking to your hands. It is not necessary to knead it for a long time, it is enough for the dough to gather in a lump.

Next, divide the dough into 8-10 pieces. From each we form a ball, and then roll it out on a floured table into a flat cake. To prevent the cakes from swelling when frying, we prick the blanks with a fork.

In a frying pan, heat a little oil (so much that it covers the bottom), put one cake at a time. Fry until golden brown over medium heat for 1-2 minutes.

Then we turn over and bring the second side to readiness.

Remove the fried cakes from the pan and transfer them to paper towels to get rid of the remaining oil on the surface. We serve hot, although in the cooled form, the cakes remain very appetizing and aromatic.
