Deliciously delicious beef meatloaf in wine sauce will appeal to everyone! I often cook this roll for the holidays. It comes out tasty, juicy and aromatic. Just imagine a golden brown crust with wine and tomato sauce, tender aromatic meat and, of course, delicious cheese filling.
This roll is also very beautiful in the context. It looks great both on its own and in cold cuts. And from the table, he always disappears one of the first.

Preparing this meatloaf is not too difficult, but it will take some skill.
Be sure to try this beef roll in wine sauce and it will also become one of your favorite holiday dishes.

Ingredients:

  • beef - 1 kg
  • dry red wine - 500 ml.
  • ground beef - 300 g
  • cheese - 100 g
  • boiled eggs - 3 pcs.
  • tomato paste - 70 g
  • milk - 50 g
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • white bread - 2 slices
  • egg yolk - 1 pc.
  • garlic - 2 cloves
  • Provencal herbs - 1 tsp l.
  • bay leaf - 2 pcs.
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper - to taste

Step by step recipe

1. First, let's prepare the filling for the roll.


Tear the pulp of two slices of white bread into small pieces and pour 50 g of milk. Leave the bread to soak for a few minutes.

2. Knead the swollen bread with a fork and add 1 yolk. Mix everything well.

3. Finely chop 2 large garlic cloves.

4. Put 300 g of ground beef in a bowl. Add a mixture of bread to it, salt to taste, add 1 tsp here. l. Provencal herbs, pepper to taste and add chopped garlic. Mix the minced meat well.

5. Three boiled eggs, three on a coarse grater.
Cut 100 g of cheese into thin slices.

6. Now we take a piece of beef weighing about 1 kg, wash it and dry it with paper towels.
Cut the meat lengthwise into two parts, but do not cut it completely. You should make a rectangular piece of whole meat.

7. We beat the resulting piece of beef with a hammer on both sides.
Salt the meat on both sides and rub the salt all over the piece.

8. On top of the beaten meat, evenly spread the cooked minced meat, slightly receding from the edges.

9. Put grated eggs on the minced meat. Put cheese on top with slices.

10. Roll the stuffed meat tightly into a roll. In order for the roll to keep its shape well, we tie it up with culinary thread or ordinary white thread folded in half.

11. Fry the prepared meatloaf on the grill for about 1 minute on all sides until a fried golden crust is formed. You can also fry it in a pan with a little sunflower oil over high heat. Roasting this way will prevent juice loss and give the roll an appetizing meaty flavor.
Transfer the fried roll to a baking dish.

12. Cooking the sauce.
Cut one onion into half rings.
Put the chopped onion in a hot frying pan with a small amount of sunflower oil. Fry until golden brown. Pour half a liter of dry red wine to the finished onion. Cook the onion and wine over medium heat until the wine has evaporated by about half.

13. It took about 15 minutes, add 70 g of tomato paste to the pan with wine, salt and pepper a little. Mix everything until smooth.

14. Pour the prepared sauce onto the prepared meat in a baking dish. Put 2 bay leaves in the sauce.

15. Cover the form with foil.
We put everything in a preheated oven up to 180 degrees. We bake under foil for 1.5 hours.
Then remove the foil from the meat and bake for another half hour.

16. The meatloaf is ready. Let it cool slightly and remove the thread.
Cut the roll into portions and serve.

The meatloaf with cheese turned out to be very tender and juicy. Such a roll is really very chic both in its composition and in taste. It can be served both hot and cold.
Also, such a meatloaf can be prepared in advance and frozen.
