This is one of the easiest recipes for poppy seed yeast roll. It is prepared quite easily and relatively quickly. The dough is pliable and pleasant to work with. Well, the set of products for the roll is minimal and accessible to everyone. This yeast pastry with poppy seeds always turns out!

Ingredients:

  • flour - 500 g
  • milk - 300 ml
  • butter - 100 g
  • sugar - 100 g
  • egg - 1 pc.
  • pressed yeast - 20 g
  • salt - 1/2 tsp l.

Filling:

  • milk - 500 ml
  • sugar - 100 g
  • poppy - 100 g
  • semolina - 4 tbsp. l.
  • egg - 1 pc.

Step by step recipe

1. First, knead the dough.


Pour 300 ml of warm milk into a bowl. Pour 100 g of sugar here, chop 20 g of alcoholic yeast and pour 0.5 tsp. salt. Mix everything to dissolve sugar and yeast.

2. Pour about 500 g of flour here in 2-3 approaches. Stir first with a spoon, and then knead with your hands. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes.

3. At the very end, add 100 g of soft butter to the dough.
Knead the dough until the products are completely combined. The dough should be soft and smooth.

4. Cover the finished dough with cling film and put it in a warm place. I put it in an oven heated to about 30 degrees.

5. While the dough comes up, prepare the filling.
Pour about 300 ml of milk into a saucepan and put on fire.

6. The milk has already warmed up, add 4 tablespoons to the remaining 200 ml of milk. with a slide of semolina and mix well.

7. The milk has boiled, pour milk mixed with semolina into it. Boil thick semolina porridge over medium heat. Be sure to stir so that the semolina does not burn to the bottom. Add 100 g of sugar to the porridge and mix again. After boiling, cook the porridge for about 2-3 minutes and remove from heat.

8. Pour 100 g of poppy into the hot porridge and mix well. Leave the cooked porridge with poppy seeds to cool, sometimes stirring, so that a crust does not form on top.

9. When the mixture has completely cooled down, break 1 egg into it and mix well.

10. The dough has already come up. We take it out of the bowl and put it on the table. Divide the finished dough into 3 approximately equal parts. Roll out each part of the dough into a rectangular sheet about 30 * 40 cm in size.

11. Put the third part of the poppy filling on the dough. Distribute the filling evenly over the entire sheet. Leave some free space around the edges without filling.

14. Turn the roll over with the seam down and transfer it to a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. This is how we form all 3 rolls.
Cover the rolls with a towel and leave to sit on the table for about 20 minutes.

15. After 20 minutes, break 1 egg at room temperature into a bowl and beat it with a fork.
Lubricate the rolls that have already come up with a beaten egg.

16. We put the baking sheet in the oven preheated to 180 degrees. We bake for about 30-35 minutes.
We take out the finished rolls with poppy seeds from the oven and let them cool.

Rolls with poppy seeds turned out to be very tasty, soft and mouth-watering. They are not difficult to prepare and always work out. From this number, it turns out quite a lot, just enough to feed a large family. Be sure to cook them, they are delicious.
