A simple and tasty dish for the daily menu. Potatoes with meatballs in a cauldron are perfect for a hearty lunch or dinner. Such a potato, saturated with the aromas of meat and spices, with juicy meatballs turns out to be very tasty. She will gather even a large family at the table - there is a lot of it and enough for everyone!
Such a dish is prepared simply and quickly enough. For cooking, you can use any minced meat. I prefer to fry meatballs in a pan. So they will remain intact and will not fall apart when extinguished. And for such a dish, you can use small young potatoes, you don't even have to cut them.
By the way, it doesn't matter if you don't have a cauldron. You can also cook these potatoes with meatballs in a large skillet with a thick bottom.

Ingredients:
- potatoes - 1 kg
- minced pork and beef - 700 g
- rice - 1/2 tbsp.
- onions - 2 pcs.
- carrots - 2 pcs.
- tomato paste - 70 g
- seasoning Italian herbs - 1 tsp l.
- bay leaf - 1 pc.
- salt to taste
- ground black pepper - to taste
- sunflower oil - for frying
Step by step recipe
1. First, let's cook the meatballs.
Put 700 g of minced meat and half a glass of well-washed rice in a bowl. Salt and pepper to taste. Mix everything well. I use ground pork.
2. Roll meatballs about the size of a walnut from the prepared minced meat.
3. Put the meatballs in a hot frying pan with a small amount of sunflower oil. Fry over low heat on all sides until golden brown.
4. Let's prepare the vegetables.
Cut two onions into cubes.
Cut two carrots lengthwise and cut into slices.
5. Cut 1 kg of potatoes into small pieces.
6. Pour the onion into a preheated cauldron with a small amount of vegetable oil. Fry a little. Then add the chopped carrots. Stir and sauté for another 2-3 minutes. You can also cook this dish in a large deep skillet.
7. Dilute 70 g of tomato paste in one glass of water.
Pour the diluted tomato paste into the vegetables and mix.
8. We are waiting for it to boil and put the prepared meatballs. We fill everything with about 1 liter of boiling water.
Then put the chopped potatoes here.
9. Salt everything, about half a tablespoon of salt. We mix everything. The liquid should cover the potatoes so that they have something to cook in. If necessary, add more boiling water. Cover the cauldron with a lid and simmer after boiling for about 15-20 minutes.
10. 5 minutes before the end of cooking, put bay leaf and 1 tsp in the cauldron. Italian herbs.
Serve hot potatoes with meatballs.
