I have already told many times that I usually prepare the seasonings myself. I have a lot of different jars in my closet. Something for tea, something for soup, something for fish, but something "for everything", like, for example, the Adyghe salt or my favorite "dry broth". I will leave references to my seasonings at the end of the article. Look, you will definitely like them!
But, of course, I also buy spices in the store. Black pepper like coriander, paprika ...
And it often happens that spices lose their aroma. And with the term, everything is in order, and does not smell. And sometimes the deadline is not in order)) But it's a pity to throw it away.
Recently I looked into my mom’s spice cabinet. And I found a package with black pepper, which is more than 7 years old. I wanted to throw it away. But Mom said that this pepper smells better than the one she bought a month ago. Can not argue))
Write in the comments, do you use spices that have expired? Is there anything to be afraid of?
If the spices have lost their aroma, I do not throw them away immediately. Firstly, along with spices, I most often add oil to the dish (preferably hot). It helps the spices "open up".
But sometimes you won't add oil. As, for example, in the Adyghe salt. Then I put the spices on a plate in the amount needed for the recipe.
And put it in the microwave for 30-40 seconds. At maximum power. Aroma! To the whole kitchen! But this is very important! It is imperative to put a small container of water next to the plate in the microwave (otherwise the microwave may deteriorate)!
Everything! You can add spices to the dish)) Write, did you know about this method?
As promised, there are links to the video where I prepare my seasonings (I highly recommend watching):
