Delicious and hearty homemade pie, which can be safely prepared for lunch or dinner. The pie turns out to be large and mouth-watering with a fragrant, tasty filling of potatoes, bacon and eggs. It also looks very interesting in section. Men will surely appreciate such homemade cakes.
What's most interesting, this savory pie is prepared from the most common and affordable products. And the preparation itself is not difficult at all. This is the so-called "quick pie" from what is in the refrigerator.
Despite its simplicity, this pie with bacon, potatoes and egg will appeal to all lovers of savory homemade baked goods. I highly recommend cooking it to please the whole family.
Ingredients:
Filling:
- potatoes - 6 pcs. (medium size)
- bacon - 300 g
- eggs - 5 pcs.
- onions - 2 pcs.
- carrots - 1 pc.
- salt - 1/2 tsp l.
- ground black pepper - to taste
Dough:
- flour - 1 glass
- kefir - 1 glass
- eggs - 1 pc.
- semolina - 3 tbsp. l.
- vegetable oil - 3 tbsp. l.
- sugar - 1 tsp l.
- soda - 1 tsp l.
- vinegar 9% - 1 tsp l.
- salt - 1/2 tsp l.
- sesame seeds - 1 tsp l. (for sprinkling)
Step by step recipe
1. First, let's prepare the pie filling.
Cut 6 medium-sized potatoes into small cubes. Put the chopped potatoes into a saucepan, fill with water and set to cook. After boiling, cook for 5 minutes, drain the water and cool.
2. While the potatoes are boiling, prepare the rest of the ingredients.
Cut 300 g of bacon into large cubes. Put the chopped bacon in a hot frying pan and fry.
3. While the bacon is cooking, cut two medium-sized onions into cubes.
Rub one carrot on a coarse grater.
4. When the bacon is slightly fried and the lard has melted, add the onion. Fry bacon and onion until golden brown.
Add grated carrots to this. Fry everything until the carrots are soft and remove from heat.
5. Add fried bacon with vegetables to boiled and slightly cooled potatoes. We mix everything.
6. Salt the filling with about half a teaspoon of salt and pepper to taste. Mix everything completely. The filling is ready.
7. Now let's start making pie dough.
Beat the egg a little with sugar and salt. Add a glass of kefir to this and mix.
8. Pour 3 tbsp. l. refined sunflower oil and mix again.
9. In a separate container, extinguish the soda with vinegar. Immediately pour everything into the dough and mix.
10. Add 3 tbsp. l. semolina and mix again.
11. At the end, add 1 tbsp. flour and finally mix everything. The dough is slightly thicker than sour cream.
12. Let's start assembling the pie. Grease the baking dish a little with vegetable oil. The diameter of my mold is 23 cm, the height is 4.5 cm.
Put half of the prepared dough into the prepared form and evenly distribute it along the bottom.
13. Put the prepared potato and bacon filling on the dough. We spread the filling in such a way that there are 5 indentations in it - four along the edges and one in the center.
Break 5 raw eggs into the resulting grooves.
14. Gently spread the remaining dough on top of the filling so that the eggs remain intact. Distribute the dough over the entire filling.
15. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the pie.
We put the pie in the oven preheated to 180 degrees and bake for about 45 minutes. Be guided by your oven.
16. We take the finished cake out of the oven and let it cool slightly. Cut into portions and serve.
