It happens that "there is no mood" to finish the bread, rolls or pies, which, as you know, I often bake. But not a piece is missing from me. I'm sorry to throw them away. Therefore, I found a storage method that allows you to eat the cake or bread later.
I put the pieces of bread that remain after lunch in a bag and store in the refrigerator door. Then I grate the bread and dry it in the oven. It turns out to be an excellent breading. Or I cut into pieces and prepare croutons for soup or salad.
But more often I just freeze the bread. So it can be stored for a very long time.
You can freeze bread in one piece. When necessary, just heat it up in the oven at 70-80 degrees. And you can eat! And if you sprinkle a little with water and bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees, a crispy crust will also appear (this is how I heat buns and a loaf).
But more often I freeze the bread by cutting it into slices. Can be just in a bag or in a plastic container.
When necessary, you can defrost as many pieces as needed and prepare croutons or such a dessert for tea (these are our favorite croutons with sour cream):
You can use this bread for cutlets. It is enough just to soak it in water, squeeze and add to the minced meat. Or, again, you can cook the breading. I also sometimes use this bread to make delicious pancakes. Here is where I shared a recipe for bread pancakes:
It's the same with pies. I cut it into pieces, put it in a container so that there are no unnecessary odors and put it in the freezer.
Here I have a piece of manna and a piece of cake with tea leaves. If you missed these recipes, I'll leave links below.
I defrost the pies on the shelf in the refrigerator - and they can be served again with tea. I freeze cakes and pastries in the same way. The taste does not suffer from this))
In the video below, there are some bread recipes. You can also use frozen bread here:
And here, see what else I keep in the freezer, besides bread, pies and cakes:
