And why does everything that we ate once in the past seem so delicious to us? Maybe because we were children, our parents were young, and the food was real? Perhaps.

And the reason for that delicious food is in its special recipe. Then there were no E and no one heard about milk fat substitutes. There was margarine, of course, and it was delicious.

Today we will try to cook the very same biscuits that we often met in the windows of our school buffet.

Milk biscuits from the Soviet school canteen - nostalgic

Ingredients:

400 gr. flour
100 ml milk or less
200 gr. Sahara
egg for dough and yolk for brushing separately
2 h l. baking powder
100 g butter or margarine

How to cook:

1. Heat milk and dissolve sugar in it, and then butter or margarine. Do not boil! Just warm it up.

There are recipes where sour cream is used instead of milk. You can, too. Only it is not heated, but simply whipped with sugar and melted cooled butter.

2. Break an egg into the mixture, beat and add sifted flour with baking powder in parts. By the way, if you bake the biscuits on sour cream, then soda is used instead of baking powder. About 1/3 teaspoon.

3. Knead a tough shortbread dough, wrap it in foil or place it in a bag and put it in the refrigerator for half an hour.

4. Then take out the chilled dough and roll it out 1 cm thick.

5. Cut out round biscuits with a notch or mold.

6. Transfer to the workpiece on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and brush on top with beaten yolk or egg. You can just milk. To make beautiful patterns come out, like icing, just slide a fork over the biscuit.

7. You need to bake nostalgic biscuits for 20-30 minutes until browning at 180 degrees.
