About 30-40 years ago, our kitchens were different. There weren't so many electrical appliances and gadgets. Everything was simple, manual and functional.
Remember these things?
We present to you a small selection of vintage kitchen utensils produced in the stable Soviet years. And even if they were not distinguished by their beauty and design, high-quality durable metal and durability still confirm that this is quite an actual kitchen utensil today.
The wooden handle pictured above is a slicer or cheese slicer. But their housewives managed to cut a lot of everything in the kitchen: eggs, tomatoes, sausage. Metallic next to the left, it is also the same. But it was also used as a cake spatula.
Many, of course, will also remember the metal spoon for testing bread for softness in bakeries that hung in every bakery. She is third from the right.
The tongs in the picture are for baking or serving dessert on a plate.
And in the same place on the right - two devices for cleaning fish. Those who have preserved them say that they are not demolished and they are eternal. Good stuff!
And now we are looking at an egg cutter, into which a boiled egg was placed and the upper part of the device was lowered, cutting it into slices.
Tongs for sugar splitting - yes, there was a necessary gizmo when sugar was not yet sand or cubes, but was sold with sugar heads and had to be chopped into convenient pieces.
A roll for rolling-beating meat is a rare piece, but some also had it. This is about the photo above.
What is it with a red pen? Corkscrew? Press? No, this is a can opener key.
Well, a strange saucepan-ladle is still in our kitchens, even in the most modern ones. And the name of this utensil is a pressure cooker.
