Peas usually have to cook for a long time, but not for me))) I have one trick, thanks to which the peas will cook very quickly in literally 20 minutes. And the most important thing is that you do not need to soak for several hours. I share my life hack.
Preparation:
By the way, earlier on my channel there was already an article on how to speed up the process of cooking peas. There I advised adding a little soda to the pot with peas (add to cold water) - literally half a teaspoon, no more. This is a good way and I have used it for many years.
But I recently discovered another one. Here you will already have to perform several steps:
1. As soon as the water boils, drain it and fill in the clean peas.
2. As soon as it boils again, pour 3-5 tablespoons of vegetable oil, reduce the heat, cover with a lid. An oily film forms on the surface of the water, which traps the heat, and the peas cook faster.
3. Do not salt the peas during cooking! The salt makes the peas harder, so add it at the very end.
These are the simple rules - and my peas boil in literally 20-25 minutes without soda and soaking, although I remember there were times when I soaked it overnight and then cooked it for another 2 hours. But now I know a lot of culinary tricks.
