How do you cook beets? Just in a pot of water? My way is better! Because the saucepan stays clean and there is no specific smell for the whole house. I share with you, I'm sure it will come in handy, because beets are cooked in every family (at least for the festive "Herring under a fur coat)
My way:
In general, I use beets all the time, and often I need them for salads, for example.
Previously, I just cooked it until tender, and then for a long time I could not wash the pan. And the specific smell of beets spread throughout the house - my husband did not like it, he had to open the windows wide open and ventilate.
Then I learned about other methods - to bake in the oven wrapped in foil. But because of one beet, I see no point in turning on the whole oven. And the oven can be busy preparing another dish.
You can cook in the microwave for 10-15 minutes at maximum power. But from the microwave, the beets do not work out that way, the taste is different.
As a result, I realized that there is nothing better than the most ordinary boiled beets.
And then one friend suggested to me that beets can be cooked in a bag! It's simple: take the most ordinary plastic bag, put beets in it, tie it tightly. You can make a double bag so that the water does not exactly get to the beets.
Cook until tender. The pot remains clean, there is no smell of beets in the whole apartment. It is very convenient, and the beets themselves are delicious.
By the way, modern plastic bags are resistant to high temperatures, so if you cook beets in them for two hours, then no harmful substances are released.
Here's a way. Try it!
