Today I want to invite you to cook good old stuffed peppers in a new version.

I stuff only 4 bell peppers: and the result is a whole pan

✨ This recipe will appeal to those who like a large amount of meat filling.

📕 For cooking you will need: 🥙

Sweet pepper (small) - 4 pcs.
Minced meat - 400-500 g
Carrots - 1 pc. (medium size)
Onions - 2 small heads
Fresh herbs (dill or parsley) - a few twigs
Tomato juice - 250-300 ml
Vegetable oil - for frying
Garlic - 2-3 cloves
Dried basil - 0.5 tsp l.
Salt, black pepper - to taste

Let's start preparing the filling. To prepare it, take any minced meat that you like, put it in a bowl, add finely chopped 1 head of onion. Add finely chopped greens to this. Season with black pepper and basil, salt well.

Knead the minced meat well with your hands.

We cut off the tops of peppers, clean it from the inside from membranes and seeds. Cut into rings 1.5-2 cm thick.

We fill the resulting blanks with minced meat. We fill it more tightly, do not hesitate - in the process of frying and baking, the minced meat will decrease in volume.

Heat a small amount of vegetable oil in a frying pan, put the prepared pepper with the filling and fry on medium heat on 2 sides until golden brown.

Transfer the fried peppers to any suitable baking dish. It is advisable that all the blanks are placed in one layer - then they will cook more evenly.

Now we also finely chop the remaining onion, and three carrots on a coarse grater.

Lightly fry the vegetables in a pan, adding a little vegetable oil, then pour in the tomato juice and simmer for 5-7 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste and squeeze out the garlic.

Pour the resulting sauce in the pepper in the form and send it to the oven preheated to 180 degrees for half an hour.

When baked, the gravy will thicken, the top layer of vegetables will brown, and the pepper will become soft and juicy.

If you like a cheese crust, 10 minutes before the dish is supposed to be ready, you can sprinkle it with a couple of handfuls of grated cheese. But even without it, it turns out very tasty!
