Recently I wrote how I salt mackerel in a bag (I will leave a link to this recipe at the end). And today I will tell you how I make spiced salted mackerel in hot oil. An interesting and unusual recipe, the mackerel turns out to be very tasty, write down the recipe without fail, otherwise you will lose it.
Ingredients:
mackerel
vegetable oil
lemon juice
onion
salt
sugar
spices (allspice, coriander, mustard, bay leaf)
Take one medium mackerel and cut into pieces about 2 cm in size.
Cut one large onion into half rings (you can even cut into rings).
We take a jar and lay out onions and mackerel in layers. The last top layer should be onions.
Now let's prepare the hot oil. Pour 6 tablespoons of vegetable oil and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice into a frying pan or saucepan. Immediately add 2.5 teaspoons of salt, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1-2 bay leaves, 0.5 teaspoon of coriander, 0.5 teaspoon of mustard seeds, 7-10 peas of allspice.
Heat over moderate heat, stirring spices. The oil should warm up well, but not boil. Spices in hot oil reveal their taste very well, mackerel turns out to be more aromatic and tastier.
Fill the fish with onions with hot oil. As soon as the oil has cooled, close the jar with a lid and put it in the refrigerator for 24 hours. During this time, the jar can be slightly shaken several times and turned upside down so that the entire marinade is evenly distributed.
Mackerel is lightly salted. If you like it to be more salty, then keep it in the marinade longer.
Bon appetit, my dears!
