Festive herring snack

Ingredients: Herring fillet, Soft curd cheese, Processed cheese (any), Pickled (pickled) cucumbers, Red bell pepper, Boiled eggs, Green onions

Cooking method:

Place the herring fillets on a cling film with the skin down, cover with cling film on top and beat off with the smooth side of a hammer. It is better to choose fillets larger and stack them at a distance from each other. If the fillet is small, then 2 pieces can be overlapped. You need to beat it off to a fairly thin state and quite intensively, but at the same time trying not to pierce it through.

This will create thin flexible plates. Put them tightly together. Remove the upper film, and leave the lower one.

Let's prepare the filling. Chop the pickles finely. Herring and pickles go well together.

Grate boiled eggs on a coarse grater. It is not necessary to separate the yolks from the proteins. All together will look great in this appetizer.

Grate the processed cheese on the same grater, after holding it in the freezer. Chop green onions finely.

Cut the red bell pepper into small cubes. This ingredient will look great when cut and add a pleasant flavor to the snack.

Put all the ingredients prepared for the filling into a deep container and add soft curd cheese.

Mix everything thoroughly until smooth. You do not need to salt the filling. There is enough salt in it, but you can pepper if desired. The filling turns out to be very tasty and can be made as an independent spread on bread. And if you add finely chopped herring to it, then it generally turns out delicious👌

Place the filling on the fillet, spreading it evenly with a spoon or silicone spatula. Roll the fillet into a tight roll, fix the film on the sides and roll the roll thoroughly on the table with your hands, giving it the most even shape. It turned out two rolls.

Chill the finished rolls very well. To do this, they can be put in the refrigerator overnight or in the freezer for 2-3 hours so that they harden and become denser. This will make them easier to cut beautifully. If you chill them in the refrigerator, then before serving, it doesn't matter, even if for a short time, but also put them in the freezer.

Cut the chilled and well-frozen rolls into slices about 1-1.5 cm thick with a very sharp knife. Serve the rolls on a nice plate or on rye bread slices. To make it festive, you can cut round pieces from bread. It is convenient to transfer rolls to bread using a spatula or a wide knife.

Serve chilled. But even if it gets warm, it will not become less tasty. Herring appetizer is very tender and easily spreads on bread, like a pate. You can simply store it in the refrigerator, but not for long.
