What a delicious herring turns out! With potatoes and black bread - just delicious! I'll tell you now how I salt herring in oil, without any pickles and other troubles.
So, we take one herring and cut it into fillets. Cut into pieces about 2 cm thick.
Cut the onions into half rings. Now we take a suitable container - a jar or container, and lay out onions and herring in layers. Sprinkle each layer of herring with salt.
Fill with vegetable oil, close the lid and put in the refrigerator. The next day (after a day) you can try. The herring is lightly salted. If you want it to be a little more salty - then keep it longer -1.5-2 days. In general, try to make it tasty for you.
By the way, not only the fish is tasty, but the onion, and the oil itself, too.
In the same way, you can pickle mackerel - it also turns out delicious!
