Jafa (Serbian Christmas cake)

Ingredients: For dough:, milk, sugar, flour, eggs, vegetable oil + for greasing, baking powder, For filling:, 250 g frozen orange, sugar, water, For icing:, dark chocolate, butter oils

Cooking method:

Prepare the base. Beat eggs with sugar. Add milk, vegetable oil and flour sifted with baking powder, mix until smooth. Place the dough in a mold greased with vegetable oil, bake in an oven preheated to 180 ° C for 25-30 minutes. Cool the cake, trim the edges, crumble the trimmings.

Prepare the filling. Grate frozen orange, remove pits. Boil a thick syrup from water and sugar. Introduce citrus mass into it, stirring occasionally, and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, add biscuit crumbs, stir. Cover the cake with orange paste, cool. Melt the chocolate with butter in a water bath, pour this icing over the cake, let it set. When serving, cut the dessert into portions, decorate to taste. Bon Appetit!
