It's not for nothing that I still sometimes turn on the TV, this happens rarely but aptly.
The other day I saw Jamie Oliver making a potato casserole and I liked the recipe so much that I decided to repeat it. True, I have a more simplified version of the casserole (so to speak, "Russified"), but this makes the casserole no less tasty.
I boiled mashed potatoes in salted water with bay leaves. I added some warm milk and worked hard with the crush. Do not add oil yet.
While the potatoes were boiling, I fried one small, finely chopped onion and smoked bacon in a little vegetable oil. I cut the bacon into strips. For piquancy, add finely chopped garlic, 1-2 cloves.
Then I sent mashed potatoes to fried bacon and onions, added a little paprika and black pepper, mixed well. At this stage, you can check the puree for salt, if not enough, then it's time to salt.
Put the prepared potatoes in a greased form and level them.
If such mashed potatoes are served on a festive table, then it can be prepared for each guest individually in small molds, for example, in cocoons. It will be very interesting.
Sprinkle a little grated cheese on top and, as a decoration, I spread one strip in a wave (I didn't get a rose).
We send it to an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 20 minutes, the casserole should warm up well, and the cheese will melt.
Serve immediately, while it is hot, it tastes better.
