The filling for potato roll can be mushrooms, chicken, minced meat, and vegetables. But ham and cheese is a classic combination. Thanks to the crispy breading on top and the soft melted cheese inside, the texture of the roll is unusual. If you want, add chopped aromatic herbs or green onions to the filling.
Ingredients: suluguni "Umalat", ham, potatoes, eggs, flour, breadcrumbs, sour cream, dill or basil for decoration, salt, freshly ground pepper
Cooking method:
Suluguni and ham cut across into thin slices. Peel the potatoes, boil until tender and mash with a potato masher. Salt, pepper and stir in the eggs. Add flour and knead into a smooth dough.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and sprinkle with half of the breadcrumbs. Spread the potato dough over the parchment. In the middle of the dough, lay out a transverse strip of suluguni. Distribute the ham on the suluguni. Helping yourself with parchment, roll the dough into a tight roll.
Unroll the parchment and sprinkle the roll with the remaining breadcrumbs. Preheat the oven to 200°C and bake the potato roll for 35-40 minutes. Cool slightly, cut into portions and serve with sour cream and a sprig of dill.
