Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. The variety of cheese can be changed, but remember that the taste of the final dish greatly depends on it. If you take a less spicy and salty variety, you will need to increase the amount of salt. Mix softened butter with grated cheese. Add flour, milk, baking powder and salt. Knead the dough quickly.
Roll the dough into a ball and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Roll the chilled dough into a layer about 5 mm thick and cut into narrow strips 2 cm wide and about 15 cm long. Roll each strip onto a stick or pencil, and then carefully remove it.
Spread the spirals on a baking sheet covered with baking paper and place in an oven preheated to 200 degrees. Bake for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
