Strudel with white fish and spinach

Cooking method:

Cooking dough. Sift flour into a bowl (about 2 cups), make a well in the center. Break an egg into a glass (bowl, cup, mug), add salt and butter, mix well and pour into flour, stirring with a fork. Knead a homogeneous dough.

Pour on a clean surface about 1 tbsp. l. flour, put the dough and start kneading. Knead vigorously until the dough is soft, elastic and completely non-sticky. If necessary, add flour, but try not to make the dough too heavy. It shouldn't be too cool.

Put it in a bowl, cover with cling film and leave to rest for 30 minutes. Today I took the ready-made puff pastry😋. To be honest, for some reason it turned out not as interesting with him as with a homemade🤗.

We are preparing the stuffing. Mushrooms cut into slices, onions - half rings. Defrost spinach and squeeze. Cut (if the spinach is not chopped) not very finely. Three cheese on a grater. Cut the garlic as small as possible.

In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat 2 tbsp. l. vegetable oil. Add the onion and cook, stirring, 3-4 minutes.

Add mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes.

Cut the fish (raw) into small pieces and put in a bowl. Add onion-mushroom mixture, spinach and garlic to it. Add half of the breadcrumbs and mix.

As soon as it becomes impossible to roll out longer, put the rolling pin aside and begin to stretch the dough with your hands. If the dough is kneaded correctly - it will stretch very well, you can make an almost transparent layer.

Next, you need to roll out the dough. On a rolling mat (you can use a linen towel, you will need something to help roll the roll) pour a little flour. We put the dough in the center and begin to roll it out with a rolling pin to the size of the towel (this is about 50 * 70).

We have a rectangle with a narrow side towards us. Sprinkle the dough with breadcrumbs, leaving a couple of centimeters clean on each side and about 20 cm further away from you.

Put the stuffing on the breadcrumbs. Spread the grated cheese on top of the filling.

We lift the edge of the mat / towel and twist the roll towards the side of the dough that we left free. The roll itself will roll and curl up 😉 We pinch the edges of the roll. Transfer the strudel to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a baking mat.

Lubricate the cake with melted butter and send it to the oven preheated to 200 degrees for 35 minutes. We take out the finished strudel from the oven, let it stand for 10 minutes, then cut it into portions and serve.

In fact, cooking fish strudel is quite easy and simple. And the result is absolutely crazy. 🥰 Definitely try it. 🤗
