Not just a sauce, but a gravy sauce that perfectly complements not only mashed potatoes, but, in principle, any other side dish.
Ingredients: Tomato paste or thick tomato juice (homemade) 5-6 tbsp, Sour cream 15-20%, Water, Medium onion, Flour, Vegetable oil, Salt, pepper, Spices
Cooking method:
Onion cut into small cubes. And fry over medium high heat in vegetable oil until slightly golden brown.
Add flour and fry for 1-2 more minutes. Carefully breaking up lumps. Add sour cream and tomato juice, salt and pepper. Simmer for a few minutes (3-4) all together.
Pour in warm (boiled) water. Add spices, seasoning for potatoes, oregano, a pinch of dill is good here. We are waiting for a little to boil on the middle window.
The whole mixture - the future sauce can be left like that, but I like it when the sauce has a uniform consistency. Therefore, we shift the mass into a tall glass and pierce it with a blender.
After that, return the sauce to the pan on the stove and heat it all up to a medium boil again. Let's try. If the density and taste suits us, turn off the sauce, remove from heat and let it brew for 10 minutes. In the meantime, lay out mashed potatoes or prepare a gravy boat.
Our delicious and bright tomato-sour cream sauce is ready. For lovers, when serving, be sure to add some fresh herbs. Bon Appetit!
