I am writing this post at the request of a reader. Rose sugar, lavender sugar, vanilla sugar, lemon sugar, orange sugar. #olgrigrecept
Ingredients: lavender, dried flowers, rose, dried very fragrant flowers, vanilla, bio-lemons, bio-oranges
Cooking method:
We place the dried lavender flowers in any dish with a ground-in lid, cover the flowers with sugar and let it brew. The sugar takes on the flavor and can be used for lavender baking.
Pink sugar. We dry the roses, grind into dust or very finely in any way, mix with sugar and use for baking and flavoring.
We buy lemon sugar only bio lemons, as various pests attack citrus plants, commercial cultivation (monoculture plantations) uses multiple sprays and poisonous substances. Pests are, for example, citrus psyllid, black fly, white fly, scale insects, felt, aphids, spider mites, powdery mildew, leaf miners, scythes and even snails, fungi (Fusarium), bacteria and viruses. Root rot is added to them,
And yellowing caused by soil problems. Peel pesticides are used against these pests, and antifungals and waxes are also used after harvest. Due to the thick skin, citrus fruits can be treated with higher doses of chemicals. Also with bio lemons, wash the peel thoroughly with warm water and dry with a towel. When eating or processing the peel, we recommend using only organic fruits. Control over them is stricter in the EU.
Wash the lemons thoroughly, wipe dry, grate, mix with sugar and use in any baking.
orange sugar. All of the above applies to oranges.
And the last and most used - vanilla sugar, put the vanilla pods in a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid, fill it with sugar and use it for baking, creams and meringues.
