Cookies " Yeast sticks"

Ingredients: dry yeast, sugar, milk, margarine, vanilla or vanilla sugar, flour, egg for greasing, vegetable oil for greasing the baking sheet, for sweet sticks:, sugar for sprinkling, for salty sticks:, cheese, sesame, salt

Cooking method:

yeast and 2 tsp. l. pour sugar with warm milk, stir well, cover and leave in a warm place for 10-15 minutes for proofing.

Then add vanilla, quite a bit of salt and softened margarine. If it is hard, cut into pieces.

Pour flour in parts, mixing in portions with margarine. There should be enough flour so that the dough does not stick to your hands.

When the dough is firm enough to knead in a bowl, turn it out onto a floured board and continue kneading on the board until smooth.

Cover and put in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours.

Lightly knead the finished dough on the table, roll it out, 0.5 cm thick, and cut into strips, 2-3 cm thick and 8-12 cm long.

Place on parchment paper, oiled and sprinkled with flour. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle generously with sugar.

Salty version of cookies: brush strips with egg, sprinkle with salt. Put grated or chopped cheese on top and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Bake at 200°C for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Cheese sticks brown a little faster.
