Ingredients:
- pita bread - 2 large sheets
- onion (large) - 3 pcs.
- parsley - 1 large bunch
- provencal herbs - 1 tsp. l.
- salt - to taste
- ground black pepper - to taste
- vegetable oil - for frying
Step by step recipe
1. Cut three onions into cubes.
Fry the chopped onion in a hot frying pan in a small amount of vegetable oil. Salt the golden onion, add 1 teaspoon of Provence herbs and pepper. Mix everything and fry for 1 more minute.
2. Chop up a large bunch of parsley. Put the fried onion and parsley in a bowl. We mix everything. The filling is ready. This filling is enough for 2 large sheets of pita bread.
3. Cut the pita bread into strips about 8 cm wide. Stack the strips and cut into squares.
4. We put a teaspoon of the filling on the edge of the square and fold it diagonally into a tube. So we start all the squares of pita bread.
5. Transfer the stuffed tubes to a baking dish or simply lay them on a baking sheet. Be sure to put it so that the tip of the pita bread is at the bottom, pressed down by the weight of the tube, otherwise they will open in the oven.
6. We put the form with tubes in a preheated oven at maximum temperature. Bake until golden, about 5-7 minutes.
