It is not always possible to find real butter on store shelves. Increasingly, there are fakes, where the composition is full of vegetable fats. Well, you can't even call it oil.
Now I will tell you how to distinguish real oil from what unscrupulous manufacturers call "oil".
Well, firstly, in the store we look at the composition. There should be only cream. If there is more than one ingredient, then we don’t take it - it’s not butter.
Secondly, the oil can be checked for naturalness at home. To do this, we need the most ordinary glass or cup.
Pour hot water into it, put a small piece of butter and stir quickly, quickly.
I checked the butter of our local manufacturer. It is written that the cream is pasteurized.
And now let's see what happened. There are two options:
1 option: the water has become white-turbid, the oil has completely dissolved, only fat floats on top. This means that the oil is of high quality, and there really is only cream in the composition and nothing more.
Option 2: particles (lumps) float in water that have not dissolved. I think everyone here already understands that this is a fake. This oil is no longer worth buying.
My water turned white, the oil completely dissolved
It is clear that you will not come to the store with a glass of boiling water and check it. But you check the oil that you currently have in the refrigerator. If everything is good, you will know that you can safely buy next time.
Write in the comments what kind of butter do you buy? Have you come across fakes? Write the names of brands - it will be useful and interesting for everyone!
