I would never have thought that pearl barley could be so delicious! Now barley doesn't stick to me. It turns out that it can be prepared in such a way that everyone will ask for an additive. It turns out very tasty!
Previously, I used pearl barley mainly only for pickle. I never cooked porridge from it, I very rarely cooked it for a side dish - and it turned out so-so.
But recently I found a recipe for barley. There are perfect proportions and ingredients. And most importantly - without problems. And even faster)))
So, we thoroughly wash the cereal several times.
Pour 3 cups of water into the pan, add barley. As soon as it boils, cook over high heat for about 7 minutes, then discard the barley in a colander or sieve.
Now we cook a second time. Pour the remaining water into the pan (two glasses), put barley, salt to taste. Cook for about 25 minutes over low heat (but to boil) under the lid.
Then add a little vegetable or butter, mix and can be laid out on plates as a side dish. Or you can eat without everything, like porridge.
