If you prepare your own home pilchards in tomato sauce, then buy the shopping you will not want to - that's for sure! Rather, write the recipe home sprat!
What is needed:
Sprat - 0.5 kg
Onions - 1 pc
Carrots - 1 pc
Tomato juice - 300 ml
Sugar - 1 tbsp
Flour - 1 tablespoon
Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Bay leaf
The fish are thawed, remove the head and eviscerated. Then well washed with water.
On a frying pan with hot oil put the chopped onion and carrot, grated on a coarse grater. Fry 5 minutes, then we place sprat.
Salt to taste, add pepper, sugar and pour tomato juice mixed with flour. Ideally it should be a home juice, but if it does not, take the store.
Pilchards simmer over low heat for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally. For 5-7 minutes until cooked add the bay leaf.
If you prepare for the future pilchards, then add 1 tablespoon of vinegar 9%, lay the fish in clean dry jars, cool and store in refrigerator. Bon appetit, my dear friends!
