In a world known only 1 product, the shelf life of which is equal to 3000 years and is - honey. A year ago, I bought a 3-liter jar of honey, but as it turned out it was a crude forgery, high-quality honey and it was not close. So this year I decided to thoroughly examine the issue of honey quality testing. To do this, I turned to my distant relative, who is a professional beekeeper for more than 30 years. From a small lecture on the phone, in addition to such general instructions as "quality honey always astringent taste, ie slightly tears up the throat "or" good honey always sweet, has a strong floral scent or buckwheat "I remember three ways to check the honey of which have never been heard, but the assurances they are professional extremely effective
1. To test the honey is diluted or not, put 1 teaspoon honey on a sheet of paper and wait 2-3 minutes. The diluted honey forms wet spot on the paper or no leak, and quality - will lie intact. As you can see, this year I bought undiluted honey, scroll right.
2. To check whether the added honey glucose syrup, you must make solution of warm honey and water in a ratio of 1 to 3, add to it a few drops of ammonia and a good shake. If the solution will turn brown, then it involved glucose syrup. In my honey it was not in the photo and scroll to the right.
3. I was told once that check is only in this way the honey will be held in one case - if it's perfect. If in an area inhabited by bees, will be a little bit unfavorable environmental conditions or the bees will at least some, even the most minor illness, but nothing of dilution and other frauds, I generally keep quiet, the test will fail. The essence is this test: pour in a saucer of water and add a little honey (1/4 teaspoon). Next, take a saucer with two hands and drive in a circle (sufficiently minutes)So that the water as if to shake up the circle and absorbed honey. We put on the table and saucer peer into the resulting solution - if honey is ideal in solution It will be noticeable pattern cells. This is due to the fact that at the molecular level will play a perfect honey honeycomb pattern, where it was kept. Unfortunately, my honey did not pass this test, and I did not see anything (the result of the photo). I will hope that next year I will be able to buy the perfect honey. Like this - put Like!
