The other day a friend called and said that a woman came up to her at Pyaterochka and asked for 50 rubles. The woman is decently dressed, in appearance, not an alcoholic, not a bum, at the age of 37-40 years.
Well, as if for Moscow, this is not an exceptional incident. Beggars have often met and are still encountered here at all times. And indecently dressed and decently. Both old people and young people. Various.
In general, her friend refused her, referring to the fact that there was no cash with her, only a bank card.
A minute later the woman came up again and asked to buy her a loaf of bread. A friend bought her some bread and calmly went home. And at home I analyzed the situation and began to reproach myself that I bought only bread.
And so we go with my son today to the store for a weekly purchase. Fortunately, Auchan is very close to us.
We made a list, we ride with a cart and choose goods at discounts (savings now, more than ever in the ranks). Not far from the bread department, a woman comes up to us and asks us to buy her bread and milk.
People, do you hear? She just asked for BREAD AND MILK.
Immediately in my head, that conversation with a friend surfaced. I looked at the woman, older than the one she described. Decently dressed, neat, neat. No painted eyebrows, eyelashes and manicure. A simple woman in her fifties.
I ask what else to buy? She says: "well, if only chicken legs." I say, "no problem, let's go."
I thought she meant chicken legs, thighs or drumsticks, and she took us to the counter with this ⬇
We bought both for her and for ourselves two packages of such legs. I asked her to wait for us at the checkout of a certain number. We collected a basket, after the checkout we divided it: a bag for myself and her.
I hope that she will definitely have enough for a week. At the exit, we started talking and burst into tears together.
Before self-isolation, she worked as a seller for a private owner in an individual entrepreneur, in a small fabric store. After the announcement of the first "weekend", the owner gave 9 thousand. rubles (that is, a month ago), the store has closed and is out of touch.
Anna (that's the name of the woman) is in a rented apartment, there is no one of her own. This month I paid for a room out of small savings. The next is the unknown.
I was going to get a job as a packer in an online grocery store. Internship - a week. And now there is no money left for food or travel. So I went out to ask... It so happened that we were the first to whom she decided to approach.
I'm glad that we were able to somehow help. We have already welded on the legs. What? Hearty, inexpensive, and also good for the joints. Where else can you dine for 12 rubles for two?
But what's next? How many people will have to do the same as Anna?
And here's another moment. People - human beings, comrade gentlemen, friends and haters, now it is not easy for many. Let's stay human.
